Fall Skills Clinics 2008
FUNDAMENTALS — The basic fundamentals of basketball are often neglected, but are the most essential pieces of the game. This area includes ball handing, passing, rebounding and lay-ups. Players will first be taught various stationary and moving dribbling drills. Then players will be taught the correct form and various ways to pass the basketball.
DEFENSE — The keys to defense are technique, reaction timing and proper footwork. Players will be taught how to position the body while defending the ball or in help-side defense.
OFFENSE — Shooting the basketball is one of the most basic, yet most complicated skills of the game. Players will first be taught the proper shooting techniques. Players will then incorporate the different ways to shoot a basketball into game situations: Stationary, Spot-Up and Pull-Up Jump Shots
