KATIE TERHUNE was First Team All-Area, First Team All Conference and All West Jersey selection for three seasons at Warren Hills High School. She holds the school record for points with over 1,500 in four years as a varsity starter. Katie earned a full scholarship to play basketball at Boston University where she was a four year starter. She is Boston University’s All-Time Leading Scorer (1,971 points) and was one of two active Division I players in the country to have her jersey retired before graduation. During college, Katie was a three-time First Team All- Conference Selection, Two-Time Boston University Athlete of the Year, New England Athlete of the Year Nominee, Most Outstanding Player for the America East Conference Tournament in 2003, led her team to the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history and holds various other school records. This past winter, Katie coached the Union Middle School Boys Team. She does private, group and team training during off-season as well.

MEGAN HAUGHEY-FREY was a four-year varsity starter, scored over 1,000 points, and guided her team to the Hunterdon-Warren Championship at North Hunterdon High School. Megan graduated from North Hunterdon with twelve varsity letters. She went on to play basketball at Lafayette College. In 2004, Megan was named head coach at Phillipsburg High School, making her the youngest head coach in the state of New Jersey. Megan is currently an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at DeSales University. In 2010, the Bulldogs won the Freedom Conference and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament. Megan received her Masters Degree from Rutgers University in May of 2008 and is currently an associate at Lehigh Valley Financial Group. Megan volunteers for Habitat for Humanity as a Global Village Trip Leader, leading groups of volunteers to international destinations.

JEN HILGENBERG was named to the All-State second team following her junior and senior seasons at Immaculata High School. She holds the school scoring record with over 1,400 points in her four-year career. She was also elected the Most Valuable Player of her team for three consecutive years. Jen went on to earn a full basketball scholarship for Villanova University. At Villanova, Jen was a starter for both her junior and senior seasons. She was also named captain during her senior season campaign. Villanova was one of the top Big East schools during all four years, making multiple appearances in the NCAA tournament. During Jen’s junior year, Villanova upset number one UConn, breaking their 69 game winning streak to capture the Big East Conference Championship. In 2005, Jen was awarded the Big East Sportsmanship award. Currently, Jen is the head girls’ basketball coach at Immaculata. The Star Ledger named her Coach of the Year in 2006.

JARED MAZZETTA was first team all state, all area, all conference, and all west jersey football player for Hunterdon Central Regional High School. Jared earned a full scholarship to play football at the University of Virginia Tech, where he was a 4 year letter winner. Jared was also a captain of the 2005 ACC championship Virginia Tech football team. Jared is currently an assistant football coach at North Hunterdon regional High School. Jared is also the Head Strength and Conditioning coach at North Hunterdon Regional High school.

HANNAH ALLY is current a freshman at Centenary College and a member of the Women's Basketball Team averaging 17 minutes a game. Prior to attending Centenary, Hannah was a 4 year varsity starter at Phillipsburg High School where she recieved the following accomplishments, Two year varsity captain, Four year varsity starter, 2007 & 2008 Team MVP, 2007 & 2008 First team all skyland conference, 2007 & 2008 Express Times Player of the week, 2007 & 2008 First team all west morris, 2007 All Area Honorable Mention, 2007 & 2008 Sunday Star Ledger Third Team Winter Honors, 2008 All Area First Team Warren Reporter, 2008 Via All Star Member, 2008 Express Times All Area Third Team, 2008 Rotary Classic Tournament MVP, Current In season Three Point Record Holder Phillipsburg High School, and Current career Three Pointer Record Holder Phillipsburg High School. Hannah is currently majoring in Secondary Education.


TOM CHMIEL is presently the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Colonia High School. He is a six time Division Coach of the Year, Conference Coach of the Year, Star Ledge Middlesex County Coach of the Year, and Home News Tribune All Area Coach of the Year. Coach Chmiel was the Boys Head Coach at Woodbridge High School. He has also be an instructor for Summer Basketball Camps in Woodbridge Township.

JEFF COATES has a long standing history of coaching basketball in Hunterdon County. Coates began his head coaching career at Madison Central High School where he was the boys’ basketball coach for the 1985-1986 seasons. After serving as an assistant coach to various programs, he became the Voorhees High School Head Girls’ Coach in 1995, where he remained until 2000. Under Coates, the Lady Vikes soared to a 114-21 overall record and appeared in four sectional championships, four divisional championships, and three Hunterdon-Warren County championships. Coates graduated four 1,000-point scorers and was named Courier News Coach of the Year in both 1996 and 1999, Express Times Coach of the Year in 1997, and Star Ledger Coach of the Year in 2000. From 2001 until 2007 Coates has served as the Bridgewater High School Head Girls’ Coach, where he won a divisional championship and graduated one 1,000-point scorer.

MARGO CONNORS just finished her second season on the Lafayette women's basketball coaching staff. Her primary responsibilities included scouting and post player development. Connors was a four-year scholarship player at the University of Vermont, where she graduated with a degree in Engineering Management with a minor in Environmental Science in 1985. She received an MBA in Marketing Management from Pace University in New York in 1993. She has played in a number of amateur and semi-pro leagues and participated in games to promote a professional women's basketball league, which came to fruition as the WNBA. After her playing days, Connors coached A.A.U. basketball before assuming a number of roles with the Voorhees High School program. She began as the freshman coach, and also gained experience as the junior varsity coach and an assistant coach at the varsity level. Voorhees compiled a record of 72-25 with Connors on the bench.

JIM DIMINO From 1994 to 1999 Jim Dimino ran the Raritan Valley Wildcats Girls’ AAU Program. From 2001 through 2007 he was the Raritan Valley Community College’s Head Men’s Basketball Coach. During his tenure, the RVCC program led the nation in free throw percent and 3-point field goal percentage. He is the founder and director of the “Nothing But Net” Girls‘ Pre-Season Basketball Camp where he has worked with Division I, II and III Somerset County players. Currently, Coach Dimino is the Assistant Director of Student Affairs at Immaculata High School.

CAITLIN CONWAY graduated from Salisbury University, in Salisbury Maryland. She graduated in 2005 from Hunterdon Central High School, where she played field hockey, basketball, and lacrosse. She was an assistant coach for 13U Hunterdon Hoosiers in the spring of 2005.

BRIAN FRANZYSHEN is currently a sophomore at Rutgers University. Brian is also a graduate of Immaculata High School were he played football (quarterback), basketball (point guard) and baseball (2nd baseman). He was a member of the 2006 State Champion 12-0 football program, which played their state title game at Rutgers University. Brian has also coached youth for the past couple years.

MARK FRANZYSHEN played high school basketball at Immaculata where he made Second Team All Conference and All Area as a senior. Mark went on to play basketball at Moravian College (Bethlehem, PA) where he was Team MPV his junior season. As a senior Mark Franzyshen contributed 13.5 points per game with 24 steals, 21 blocks, 38 assists and 159 rebounds, and is ranked third in school history for career free throws made (320) at Moravian College. Franzyshen also earned a spot on the Landmark All-Conference Second Team in his last year as a Greyhound. He led Moravian to a NCAA Division III tournament qualification for the first time in 25 years. Mark also earned a spot on the 2008 Landmark Conference Winter All-Academic Team.

MICKEY FREY is a 1972 graduate of Wilson Area High School where he participated in football and track. He coached girls basketball in the CBL for 4 years and also coached midget wrestling and football. He was President of the Wilson Varsity W Club for 8 years where he worked to support all boys and girls sports. He has been a master plumber for 16 years and owns his own business. He is an avid hunter who also enjoys sports of all kids. He is married with three children and one grandchild.

TONY FREY is currently the Varsity Boysʼ Assistant Coach at Phillipsburg High School. He has coached Basketball at Phillipsburg at the Freshman, JV, and Varsity levels for the past eight years. He also is a Varsity football coach, with seven years at Phillipsburg High School and one year at North Hunterdon High School. He also was the Linebackerʼs coach at Muhlenburg College for one year.

ED FURMAN is currently the Varsity Girls’ Assistant Coach at Phillipsburg High School. He was the Head Coach at Mount St. Dominic's for 5 years. Coach Furman has also been an instructor at the C. Vivian Stringer Girls’ Basketball Camps at Rutgers. Coach Furman is also the head baseball coach at Union Township School where he is a health and physical education teacher.

RALPH GIORDANO, a graduate of SUNY Oneonta, has coached numerous youth sport teams over the last 20 years. Throughout both Rockland County, NY, and Hunterdon County, NJ, Ralph has been involved with recreation, CYO, travel, and club-level teams. The desire to coach with Hunterdon United is based on his belief in stressing fundamentals, conditioning, player development, and team play. In high school he was a three-time letter winner in basketball, lacrosse, and soccer, and continued his lacrosse career at SUNY Oneonta. Ralph worked closely with the U9/U10 girls’ team in 2007

BECKY GOETZ is a Hunterdon Central graduate where she played soccer and basketball. She graduated from Elon University and is now coaching basketball at Immaculata High School.

COURTNEY GOETZ was a three sport athlete at Hunterdon Central. She went on to be play soccer at Springfield College where she was a four year starter. In 2005, Courtney helped lead Springfield to their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament. That same year Courtney was named First team All-NEWMAC Conference defensive player. Courtney now teaches and coaches basketball at North Hunterdon High School.

AMY HANK is a 2000 graduate of Freedom High School in Bethlehem, PA where she competed in both Volleyball and Basketball. She graduated from Bloomsburg University with a BS in Business/Marketing, and is currently working at a medical communications company in New Hope, PA. This is her first year with the organization and she is very excited to work with everyone!

AMBER HARRIS played four years at Washington High School in Washington, PA. She was named the PIAA All State Class AA Player of the Year. She was also named First Team All-State performer as named by the Associated Press and the Observer Report Player of the Year. She led Washington High School to a 25-5 record and an appearance in the Class AA state finals in 2003. She finished her career scoring 1,400 career points and had 1,012 career rebounds. She then went on to play basketball at Seton Hall University where she was a 3 year starter and two-time Tri-Captain. Amber had the team’s highest shooting percentage and was the second leading rebounder. She was named the teams Most Improved Player in both 2005 and 2006 and in 2007, her senior year, she was awarded the Richie Reagan Player of the Year Award for demonstrating leadership and dedication. She earned her BA in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice. She is now completing graduate school at Seton Hall University in the Master’s of Public Administration Nonprofit Management program.

KRISTEN HAUGHEY-PRENDERGAST graduated from North Hunterdon Regional High School where she competed in field hockey, cross country, basketball, and outdoor track & field. Kristen won 11 varsity letters at North Hunterdon and was an outdoor track & field All-American. Kristen went on to compete in college athletics at the University of Virginia. At UVA she ran cross country, indoor track & field, and outdoor track & field. She had the opportunity to represent UVA at the ACC Championships. In 2003-2004 Kristen was an assistant coach at North Hunterdon for the varsity cross country and girls' basketball programs. That same year she was the outdoor track & field varsity throwing coach and an AAU basketball coach for the Lady Liners program.

MIKE HAUGHEY graduated from North Hunterdon HS and is finishing his college career at Grand Canyon University after two years at Penn State University. Mike is majoring in elementary education. At North Hunterdon, Mike played both football and baseball. Mike currently coaches Junior Lions Football, and has coached at North Hunterdon basketball and baseball camps the past 5 summers. Mike is currently a classroom aide with the Alexandria Township School District, working in both the pre-school and kindergarten classrooms. Mike has been coaching with United Basketball for the past two years.

KEVIN KUCHOVA began coaching in 1982 as an Assistant Coach for the men's program at Atlantic County Community College in Mays Landing, New Jersey. Most recently he has been coaching Girls AAU since 2003 for the Hunterdon Hoosiers and United AAU Basketball. Coach Kuchova is a member of the Basketball Officials and a former member of the Collegiate Basketball Officials Association. He continues to be a student of the game and most enjoys teaching and sharing his experience with players who share his passion for the game of basketball.

JIM MANNING has been coaching basketball ever since graduating from -p Heights High School near Scranton, Pennsylvania. He started out working with his brother's AAU program: the NEPA Sharpshooters. After graduating from Bloomsburg University, Jim began teaching and coaching at Abington Heights, working with the freshman program for two years. Both of those teams made it to the District championship, with the 2nd team winning the district title and going undefeated at 24-0. He then took a job as the freshman coach at Scranton Prep and coached there for three years, with his last year finishing undefeated at 26-0 and winning the district title. Jim went back to Abington Heights again for two more years and helped them to league titles. At the same time he was also working with the Sharpshooter program coaching teams of 14- and 15-year olds traveling up and down the east coast. After moving to New Jersey, Jim worked for Coach Haughey and Hunterdon United program in the spring of 2007 and is currently the JV girls’ coach at Phillipsburg High School. Coach Manning is a 2nd grade teacher in the Bethlehem Township School District in Asbury, New Jersey.

ALEX MANTZ is currently a junior at North Hunterdon High School. She has been playing basketball for 10 years at the recreational, travel and high school levels. While a knee injury has kept her from playing recently, she continues to stay involved in the sport she loves by being a referee for the Clinton Township Rec league. During the summer of '09 she was an assistant coach at the Clinton Township Rec Basketball camp. Most recently, Alex assisted Megan Haughey with the Hunterdon Hoops Future Ballers clinic. Alex plans to major in Education in college and hopes to continue coaching basketball later in life.

JAMIE MARSH is finishing up his schooling at Rowan University and is on his second placement of student teaching. By the beginning of May, Jamie will have his Bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Science. Jamie is currently employed by the Hunterdon YMCA and teaches children the importance of healthy choices and proper lifting techniques. Jamie attended North Hunterdon High School where he played football. He was the captain of the team and was awarded the Boyer M.V.P. award, the Fritz Halfacre award, and Milk Can Defensive M.V.P. Jamie is North Hunterdon’s all time leading tackler in a season and in a game. This will be Jamie’s first year involved with Hunterdon Hoops.

NATE MOORE graduated from North Hunterdon High School in 1997; he earned his bachelors degree at West Chester University, and masters in education at Holy Family University. He coached for five seasons (1997-1999, 2002-2003) in the Clinton Community Athletics basketball league. Coach Moore served three seasons (2003-2006) as Assistant Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at Bridgewater- Raritan High School. His responsibilities included head freshman and JV coach, as well as position coach for guards in the program. Currently Head Boys Basketball Coach at Delaware Township School where they recently won the 2008 Tourill (Kingwood) Basketball Tournament. Nate is a teacher at Hunterdon Central High School and is in his seventh season as Head Baseball Coach at Delaware Township School.

JIMMY OSTASZEWSKI coached at Marist High School in the 80’s at all levels: Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity. Teams during his time at Marist played in 5 County Championships, winning 3. In 2003, Coach Ostaszewski was the assistant Varsity coach at Bayonne High School where he recorded 107 wins and only 22 losses. At Bayonne, he played in 5 consecutive county championship games, winning 3 of the 5. He has been an instructor at numerous girls and boys basketball camps throughout the Tri-State area.

DARRIEN PINKMAN Coach Pinkman's passion for the game led him to coaching in 1990. In high school, he was selected as an second team all-conference and third team all-West Jersey guard while attending Warren Hills High School. In college, Coach Pinkman was twice voted the (CSAC & EPCC) player of the week once averaging 22.7 points and 6.1 assists per contest. Darrien has also spent many years coaching at various elite summer camps in NJ/PA, including Seton Hall and The College of NJ (Formally, Trenton State). Darrien still remains highly involved in the Warren Hills Youth Basketball League. Coach Pinkman graduated, cum laude (with honors), from Centenary College, and also holds professional certifications from Steven's Institute of Technology and Lehigh University.

KYLE REHRIG played basketball at Northern Lehigh High School. He graduated from Moravian College in 2002. While in school he was the Boys Varsity Assistant at Notre Dame (Easton, Pa) from 2000-2002. He was the Boys Varisty Assitant at Ridge from 2002-2003 and then became the head girls coach at Manville until 2007. Last year Kyle was the Varisty Assistant at Ridge and this past season he was the Junior Varisty and Assitant Varsity coach at North Hunterdon High School.

NICOLE SAVINO is currently the Freshmen Girls' Basketball coach at Phillipsburg High School. She is a graduate of Brandywine Heights High School where she was a three-year varsity starter, two time MVP, 2002 All-Berks selection, and 1,000 point scorer. She then went on to play basketball for four years at Moravian College. While at Moravian she helped her team to four consecutive MAC Conference championship games and a trip to the NCAA's. She graduated in 2006 with a degree in chemistry and is currently teaching at Phillipsburg High School.

HANI SOLIMAN played high school basketball at Pocono Mountain East High School in Stroudsburg, PA. Hani graduated from Rutgers University with a Masters in Math Education. Hani is currently working at Prudential Financial, and co-owner of an internet based t-shirt company. Coach Soliman has spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Phillipsburg HS with both the JV and Varsity girls program. Coach Soliman is returning to Hunterdon United, after coaching the U11 boys in 2007.
