What makes us different

#whyplayUnited

Why should your son/daughter Tryout for our United AAU Program?

High Level, Non-Parent Coaches
- Our program stresses the importance of non-parent coaches during the AAU Season. We believe coaching viewpoints and decisions can be skewed if a son or daughter is on the team with a parent coach.

Promises, Promises, Promises - At United, we pride ourselves on holding true to our word. We DO NOT make promises we cannot keep. Any AAU coach that promises your son/daughter a full Collegiate Scholarship if you participate in their program is making unwarranted and untruthful claims. We do promise we will provide maximum exposure for your child, but ultimately, it is up to the player to perform at these events. Unrealistic expectations are not fair for United, the players, and the players' parents/guardians.

The Student-Athlete - Our program prides itself on helping mold the true student-athlete. Our hands-on approach makes us a unique program unlike any other. We combine athletic and academic skills (the true student-athlete), one-on-one academic consultation, topnotch web site integration, and an open door policy for players/parents to discuss progress.

College Prep Program - Why waste money on recruiting and exposure services when we provide this assistance to each player? Each player can create an online biography page for college coaches to view in real time. Individual pages include text, images and videos of the player’s choosing. Our program also videotapes high school games, then posts the footage on our web site. This is a huge advantage for college coaches due to the updated recruiting guidelines reducing live periods.

Large Organization, Large Recognition - Due to the size of our program and the number of players who have graduated to play at the collegiate level, we have respectful and ongoing relationships with hundreds of Division One, Two and Three coaches.

Top-Rated Tournament Schedule - Our coaches and staff members spend a lot of time researching the best tournaments for each team. Every team’s schedule has a combination of local warm-up tournaments and high-rated and/or college exposure events. Due to all the college recruiting changes and limitations, we do not send every team to college events. Certain college events are a waste of time and money for younger age divisions.

Local Coach Relationships - Our program believes in working with local coaches to achieve the best possible relationship. We update and include school coaches on player development, while doing our best to include them in our college recruiting process. We will NOT allow high school players to tryout, practice or compete in any physical workout while in season. We do not believe in an overlap of high school and AAU seasons.

Competitive AAU Teams at Each Level - Our program’s rosters consist of players from Warren, Hunterdon, Somerset, Mercer, Hudson and many other counties. We believe this multi-county mixture of players is the best approach to achieve high-level teams where players challenge each other on a daily basis.

Intense, Skill-Focused Instruction - Our practice time revolves around skill development. Our main goal is the development of each player, and we believe this can be achieved through a heavy focus on skills at practice.
